in oakland after an eight hour police stand off. the s.w.a.t. team surrounded the home on 26th avenue near international boulevard early this morning. in search of the gunman who they say opened fire a few blocks away. six people came out of the house during the stand off by 8:00 this morning the shooting suspect had surrendered. police were alerted to the system after the shooting victims were driven to the hospital. >>> seven men from sacramento county are recooperating tonight. police say the victims were shot as they were leaving a family gathering in the city of galt at around 10:30. witnesses on the scene tell investigators say saw somebody open fire from a passing car. a neighbor says this is not the first time violence has erupted in his neighborhood. >> crazy. we had some incident about five years ago when they had a shooting in the other corner. >> officials say the shooting may have been gang related. all of the victims are expected to survive. >> investigators are looking into whether reckless driving led to a fiery and fatal crash tonight between a motorcyclist and several car

on a house in the oakland hills. it happened around 3:30 this morning on oakwood drive, the tree estimated to be 75 foot tall crashed down on the corner of the roof. the downed tree also brought traffic on oakwood drive to a stop. firefighters say they do not know what caused that tree to fall. >>> an investigation is underway into a crash involving a scooter and a santa clara county sheriffs patrol car. the accident happened before 12:30 this morning in the area of west heading street and the alameda. investigators are trying to determine if one of the drivers may have run a red light. two people on the it scooter were taken to the hospital but their injuries are not believed to be serious. the deputy in the patrol car was not hurt. the vehicle sustained damage to the right front bumper. a couple of san francisco police cars will be out of action after an unusual crash. officers were investigating an argument on the 4000 block of mission street. police say pickup truck sideswiped a patrol car, sending it into a second police car. witnesses say officers had to scramble to avoid getting hit

mist on the windshield this morning. check out the visibility in oakland at quarter-mile visibility at half moon bay and a.5 in concord and napa. livermore shows no fog. if you are coming from oakland and headed to the bay bridge, this is what you will drive through, the bay bridge toll plaza, you can see how thick it is. you could have mist on the windshield. in san francisco it is 48 and oakland, and san jose at 50 and walnut creek at 49 and walnut creek at 44. in san jose, you can see it is clearer than it was this time yesterday, santa rosa 43 and fairfield and napa at 41 and livermore, 45 and gilroy if you live in union city dress for 48 degrees before you head out the door. today, faster sunshine and warmer temperatures and mild so watch out for the patchy fog. we have bay area rain and sierra snow but not until next week. it is not a big storm. it is something to look forward to. that is all we have right now. we have promises of future rain as we wiped down the rain and snow season. the south bay shows temperatures nearing 80 in los gatos and morgan hill and 74 in santa clar

at oakland 1/8 of a mile. the fog still hugging parts of the shoreline. extending out toward berkeley and richmond. in the afternoon hours we will warm things up. that will translate to a few spots approaching the 80-degree mark this afternoon. the cooler end of the temperature range right near the immediate shoreline. there's our forecast model in the short term show you the dense fog between now and 10:00. and then into the afternoon hours still picking up a few left over patches from parts of the coastline. this forecast model clears it out completely. we could have a few left over patches. 8:00 this morning areas of fog 42-52 degrees. relatively clear skies well inland. by 12:00 still patchy coastal fog. and 3:00 mild to warm. there is the eventual temperature range and a few low 80s showing up. brentwood we will go to 80. san jose a forecast high of 76. and look at gilroy 80 degrees. look ahead your five-day forecast a little cooler for your thursday. no major changes with partly sunny skies by the weekend. >>> time now 5:10. the fatal cra
